About the Trust for Promotion of Education
The Trust for Promotion of Education (Regd.), established in April 2010 under the leadership of Late Dr. Amarjit Singh Khehra, former Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, is a community-driven initiative dedicated to improving the quality of primary education in rural Punjab.
Its mission is to ensure that every child receives a strong educational foundation, enabling them to pursue higher studies with confidence, curiosity, and competence.
Association with MSCA
In May 2015, the Trust was formally adopted by the Mohali Senior Citizens Association (MSCA). Since then, MSCA members have actively supported its activities, visiting schools, mentoring teachers, and guiding the initiative — reaffirming the spirit of service to society.
Our Work in Rural Schools
The Trust presently supports six Government Primary Schools: Saidpur, Jhanjeri, Majat, Cholta Khurd, Majatri, and Sawara.
Leadership and Management
The Trust is led by:
- Chairman: S. Jarnail Singh Benipal (Former Controller of Examinations, PSEB)
- Trustees: S. Jagmohan Singh Thukral, S. D.S. Bhatia, S. Jarnail Singh Saini
- Secretary General: Brig. J.S. Jagdev
Together, they guide the Trust’s activities with transparency, accountability, and dedication.
