Mohali Senior Citizens Association (MSCA) came into existence on March 3, 2007, with the inspiration of Late Shri P. H. Vaishnav, former Chief Secretary of Punjab and President, Chandigarh Senior Citizen\u2019s Association. It was formally launched by Cap. Kanwaljit Singh, Cooperation Minister of Punjab on May 13, 2007. Dr. Amarjit Singh Khehra, former Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, was its Founder President and now is its chairman. MSCA also played key role in formation of Federation of Senior Citizens Associations, Punjab (FEDSEN-Punjab). At present the association has 2300+ life members from all walks of life. To encourage women, their membership subscription has been decreased by 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohali Senior Citizens Association was established to provide a common platform for promoting brotherhood, creating an atmosphere for active and healthy life and earning respect through selfless service to the society. The activities include regular Bimonthly Meetings, Picnics, Health Care Awareness Programme, Free Medical Service on every Wednesday, periodic Free Medical Camps, Visits and Financial Contribution to Orphanage, Destitute and Charitable Homes. Strengthening of Intergeneration Bonds and Counseling our Multipurpose Centre provides daily facilities for indoor games, library, internet access besides regular computer training. The annual activities being organized include Celebration of Foundation Day, Senior Citizens Day, P. H. Vaishnav Memorial Seminar and Sports Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aims & Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The MSCA shall have the following Aims and Objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • To forge fraternity and close contacts amongst Members and to promote fellow feelings of goodwill, co-operation and mutual service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To promote national integration, secular and democratic feelings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To promote the cause of human dignity and social justice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To render sincere service for common cause and to achieve and uphold lofty values of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To strive for providing moral, physical, financial and medical assistance to the needy, poor and destitute, such as aged, orphans, widows and students etc. without any distinction-of sex, caste, color creed, religion or politics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To cooperate, federate or affiliate and exchange delegations with any other organizations having similar aims and objectives both inside and outside the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To pursue the objects incidental or ancillary to the attainment of the above aims.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To establish Day-Care Centre, Club and Old Age Home for those who are found to be really deserving and call for exclusive attention of the Association.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To strive to minimize the strain on the minds of the Members, by making adequate provisions in the shape of Club (with indoor games, reading room), get-to-gathers and outings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To rivet together Members from all walks of life, all lines of intellect, religious\/ moral learning and craving for \u2013 social service, by organizing discussions, where Members, may freely disseminate their ideals and knowledge to others and assimilate new ideas by mutual deliberations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To organize seminars and meetings and invite therein prominent personalities who may enlighten the Members with their candid views and ideologies on varied aspects of life, so as to boost the morale of the Elders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
